Organizing Committee Inauguration installed by Government

On April 30th 2013, her Majesty Queen Beatrix will abdicate the throne followed by the swearing-in of Willem Alexander as King in an Inauguration Ceremony in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Sint Maarten as Country within the Kingdom of the Netherlands will take part in the celebrations of this historical occasion. By National decree approved by the Council of Ministers and signed by the Governor of Sint Maarten the Organizing Committee Inauguration (OCI) has been installed to organize and execute the activities surrounding this event.

 

The Committee consists of Chairlady – Anenda Zaandam, Secretary – Emilia Thomas, Liaison Council of Ministers – Cassandra Janssen, Liaison Cabinet of the Governor André Hoeneveld, and Public Relations – Rodney Richardson.

On Friday March 22nd , the first meeting of the Organizing Committee Inauguration was convened at the Cabinet of the Governor of Sint Maarten by of Governor Eugene Holiday together with Prime Minister Sarah Wescot Williams officially kicking-off the work of the committee.

The Committee began its work immediately with a meeting with workgroups as the various activities are to take place within a short time span. The public will be kept abreast on these activities leading up to the commemoration of this historical event.
