KPCN arrest four Statia youth

In the early morning hours of Monday October 26th the Dutch Caribbean Police Force (KPCN) arrested four Statian youth in their homes. The arrested were made on the authority of the Public Prosecutors Office following several months of police investigation. The examining Judge further ordered the arresting officers to carry out a house search on two premises to gather more information in this investigation. The scope of this investigation involves among others embezzlement,  theft, theft by breaking and entering and destruction of property. The teens arrested are R.L.G (16), K.R (17), D. de B (15) and M.v.d.S (15)

 

Chief of Basic Police Care, Maurice van Velzen, in a press briefing immediately following the arrests, explained that The Police tried to carry out this operation as discrete as possible recognizing the huge impact this would have.  Victim Support and the Centre for Youth and Family are on standby as of 8.00 AM Monday morning to support the families of these youngsters. According to Police more investigations are pending in this case.
