The Boardwalk "Road to Carnival" event was a big hit Thursday evening as TelEm Group and St. Maarten Carnival Development Foundation (SCDF) continued to hype up the 2013 pre-carnival buzz.

According to our "on-the-road reveller" Jesus Richardson, the carnival extravaganza was held at the St. Rose Arcade on the Boardwalk with many carnival fans and members of the public present along with Senior Carnival Queen and Miss Mature contestants.

Jesus writes: – "The MC for the evening was King Beau Beau with entertainment by the Impakt band and later by the Mighty Dow, ensuring a festive and fun evening," said Jesus.

"The highlight of the evening was an "Orange Dance" contest in which winner Ursel Biabiany (pictured above) won a 3G phone package. Other prizes of a Carnival 2013 season pass, sponsored by the SCDF and a one week stay in a US resort, courtesy of SDI Tours, were won by other prize-winners," said Jesus.

Jesus says the Road to Carnival event continues tonight (Friday April 5th ) with a block party at Shieka’s Bistro on Backstreet.

He says all party-goers and carnival lovers are welcome.
