The central dispatch center got a call on Sunday, the 6th of August, around 10.30 pm, about an ill treatment incident in Sucker Garden. The Patrol was immediately sent over and noticed one man unconscious on the ground with serious head injuries. The victim was treated on the scene by the ambulance personnel and immediately brought to the Sint Maarten Medical Center for further treatment. Another man with initials B.R. (46 years old) approached the officers and told them that he is the one who hit the victim with a shovel on his head. The suspect was taken into custody where he is still locked up for further investigation. The victim N.M. (70 years old) is hospitalized at the Intensive Care Unit in critical, but stable condition.
