U.S. Forward Operating Location Volunteers Help Local Organizations

United States Forward Operating Location (USFOL) volunteers were very active for various organizations on Curacao February 3-14.

Twenty-five USFOL volunteers helped refurbish a playground at the Siloam Children’s Orphanage/Hospice. Brother Herman Gijsbers, who directs Siloam, stated USFOL volunteers saved him weeks of work.

Additionally, over twenty USFOL volunteers participated in Amigunan Di Christo’s after school program Sports Day by assisting school staff in coordinating and managing the successful event for the children.

Also, USFOL volunteers repaired and painted kennels and prepared cats and dogs for adoption at the Dierenasiel Parera Animal Shelter.

USFOL volunteers regularly participate in service projects for various non-profit organizations around Curacao as a way of saying "thank you" to their island hosts.
