~ Food handlers courses must be taken ~
The St. Maarten Carnival Development Foundation (SCDF) on Thursday reminded that its office at the Delta Hotel in Philipsburg is open every Saturday from 10:00am until 2:00pm.
Anyone that has to finalise Carnival business are urged to visit the office to do so. Booth holders in particular are advised to visit to obtain vital information associated with their booth in Carnival Village this year.
Booth holders are also reminded that they must complete food handlers courses before April 1, 2014, in order t secure their booths. The SCDF and the Ministry of Public Health will strictly enforce its safety and hygiene stipulations in Carnival Village starting with the aforementioned courses.
Booth holders can obtain information about dates, the venue and cost of these courses. At the end of the course a certificate valid for two Carnival seasons will be issued. More information about the activities of the Health Ministry and SCDF for Carnival will be released at a later date.
