USM & CFT To Hold Lecture on Healthy Public Finance, a Foundation for Growth

The University of St. Martin (USM) and the College financieel toezicht (Cft) are collaborating once again in organizing an informative lecture on the theme "Healthy Public Finance, a Foundation for Growth".
This lecture will focus on how we can build a solid foundation for sustainable growth in the Caribbean as part of the Dutch kingdom.
Keynote speaker for the lecture will be Professor Age Bakker, Chairman of the College financieel toezicht.

 

Professor Bakker will be addressing among others the comparison of the financial supervision between Curacao/St. Maarten and the Euro area, the budget surplus/deficits within the kingdom, the debt ratios between the kingdom and the challenges the countries within the kingdom are facing to balance their budget.
The Dean of Academic Affairs of the University of St. Martin, Mr. Francio Guadeloupe stated that In these times of developing the country status of St. Maarten, and all the issues related to the passing of the island budget, the University of St. Martin is committed to offering clear information to its student body and the general public. All Business and Hospitality students are encouraged to attend this lecture.
Key figures within the Ministries of Finance and Economic development and the business community are confirmed to attend this lecture.
The lecture is scheduled for Monday January 20th 2014 in the USM lecture hall (room 202) at 7:00pm. The general public is encouraged to attend.
