The official representatives of the National ombudsman have concluded their visit to Saba and St. Eustatius. Last week the islands’ citizens had the opportunity to consult with them about complaints regarding the government.
Consulting hours were busy again this time. "We feel people are more willing to file a complaint. The institute Ombudsman is becoming a fixture and our twice-yearly visits are building trust", says one of the representatives.
The National ombudsman will visit the BES islands again next year. The visit is planned for spring 2014. In the meantime, complaints can still be filed via the website nationaleombudsman.nl or via the free phone number + 31 800 33 55 555.
