Presentation of School Flags for Friday Parade Pre-Sxm Day Celebrations

On Wednesday Minister Cornelius de Weever acting on behalf of Honorable Minister of Education, Culture, Youth and Sports Affairs Patricia Lourens – Philip, presented 300 flags to primary public schools representative Gwendolyn Davis-Holiday and the St. Maarten’s Day Organizing Committee, for the students of the six public primary schools who will be taking part in pre-St. Maarten/St. Martin’s Day celebrations on Friday morning. Teachers will also receive the flag and tie pin. 

Primary school students will gather early Friday morning at the L. B. Scot Sports Auditorium where they will participate in a program of national activities. After that they will line-up at 10.30am in front of the Auditorium for a parade down Front Street turning at the Court House and ending in front of the Government Administration Building.
