TelEm Group CFO thanks veteran workers for laying a firm foundation for generations to come

TelEm Group honoured ten of its longest serving employees during a special gathering at The Cabana Beach Bar & Restaurant, Royal Palm Hotel, Saturday.

The employees together clocked in a massive 225 years of service for TelEm spanning close to four decades and individually marking 20, 30 and 35 years in the company.

TelEm Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Mrs. Helma Etnel, officially welcomed the veteran employees and their invited guests to the TelEm Group 2012 & 2013 Jubilee celebration, and thanked each in turn for their contributions over the years.

"On behalf of management, I want to thank you all for laying the foundation that created the company that we have today which keeps 150 persons employed and able to feed their families and pay their mortgages," said Mrs. Etnel.

She said the veteran employees and their guests, who braved a torrential downpour to be present at the Jubilee celebration, are most deserving of the attention given to them on such a special occasion by the Human Resources and Development Department on behalf of management.

"It is especially good that you can celebrate amongst your colleagues and spouses and families," said Mrs. Etnel.

The jubilee celebrants were each presented with a 32" flatscreen TV, with an iPad going to 30-year veteran Erundine van Heyningen along with a bouquet of flowers.

Upon graciously accepting the gifts, Erundine van Heyningen attributed her many years in TelEm to her trust in God and his blessings of two wonderful sons and grandchildren.

A number of department heads and colleagues paid tributes to the Jubilees during the course of the evening, many highlighting the inspiration they give not only to their well-known colleagues and the managers themselves, but also to younger workers joining the company.

The TelEm Group CFO thanked the organizing committee, including one of the celebrants, Carmita Brooks, for making it an enjoyable and memorable celebration and the Mcee for the evening, Suraj Ramdas, for his own personal and much-appreciated contribution.
