On October 1st, a hearing was held on the permit authorization of Jokaya NV for the construction and use of the de Kleine Noordelijke Pier (Karel’s Pier) on Bonaire, as part of the project Hotel Zeezicht. The hearing was held in The Netherlands; the applicant and interested parties on Bonaire were able to participate in the hearing through video conference. Because the space inside was limited, circa 70 people who were interested were present in a tent in the parking lot of the RCN building, where one could follow the hearing through a video connection.
