PM Douglas congratulates region’s newest leader

St. Kitts and Nevis’ Prime Minister the Rt. Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas, has told Grenada’s new Prime Minister the Rt. Hon. Keith Mitchell that Tuesday’s election victory "is evidence to support the people’s confidence in your Party’s ability under your competent direction, to steer your beloved "Spice Isle" through the current economic crisis into a challenging but more hopeful tomorrow could not have been more convincing."

 

Congratulating Dr. Mitchell on the landslide victory in the February 19 General Elections which returned the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to office, Prime Minister Douglas said "gaining all fifteen (15) seats is not only a remarkable feat indeed but is undoubtedly as a consequence of arduous labour and unwavering commitment will inspire your fellow citizens for a long time."

Dr. Douglas told the Caribbean’s newest prime minister that he is of the firm belief that he will return to the seat of Government with similar and perhaps greater fervour that undergirded his campaign."

"We have served together in the past and I look forward to once again working with you to address the bilateral, regional and international issues that will foment the social and economic progress of our people and nations. In extending sincere best wishes for continued good health and success, I also avail myself of this opportunity to renew to you the assurances of my highest consideration," said Prime Minister Douglas.
