ST. JOHN’S, Antigua- Captain Stafanie Taylor produced an award-winning performance with bat and ball to lead the Windies Women to a second successive win over Sri Lanka in Trinidad, during the ICC Women’s Championships qualification for World Cup 2021.
Asked to bat first in a rain-reduced 47 overs per side match, Sri Lanka posted 162 all out in 46.3 overs. Yosada Mendis 34 and Chamari Athapaththu 31 were the main run-scorers along with Dilani Manodara 26.
Afy Fletcher led the Windies wicket-takers with 3/24 from her 10 overs, while Anisa Mohammed took 2/16 and Stafanie Taylor 2/31.
Hayley Matthews and Kycia Knight got the Windies run chase off to a solid start, posting 49 before Knight was the first to go for 24. Matthews fell for 25. Then came the match-winning 77-run partnership between Taylor and Deandra Dottin. The Windies finished on 163/3 from 39.4 overs. Taylor on 60 not out and Dottin 37 not out.
