Director for Pony Baseball Eastern Caribbean Region Mr. Gabriel F.E.Brown has appointed Orlando Gonzales from St. Maarten as official umpire for Pony Eastern Caribbean Region. The decision to appoint Mr. Gonzales as official umpire came after seeing Mr. Gonzales umpiring some 60 youth baseball games of which he has shown that he has full control of the ball game and knew how to proceed according to Pony Baseball Rules and regulations. As regional umpire means that he can act as an official umpire for the 13 Eastern Caribbean Islands including Aruba, Curacao, Bonaire and all the surrounding islands of St. Maarten such as Saba, Statia and Anguilla. In the upcoming Caribbean Zone Meeting, which will be held in Aruba, Mr. Brown will be proposing Mr. Gonzalez as umpire for the Entire Caribbean Zone. In the past St. Martin had proposed umpires that resulted umpiring World Series games in Viana, Ohio. The Regional Director, Mr. Brown is confident that Mr. Gonzales will do a good job as an umpire for the Region and also for the entire Caribbean Zone.
