The first round of the 2014 European Championship ended on Tuesday in Regensburg, Germany where France defeated Belgium 5-4 on a two-run walk-off home run by Felix Brown in the bottom of the ninth inning.
France took the lead in the bottom of the first inning however that remains for a good while until in the seventh inning Belgium tied the game and went ahead in the eighth inning. In their last at bat Belgium had two players on base with one out and was threatening to go with the victory however France managed to make a double play in which Felix Brown was the one gunning the out.
Felix Brown played for the St. Martin Pony League Cul de Sac Athletics and also the double A Mets Team. The final stage of the Tournament will take place in Brno, Czech Republic and will be held from September 18 – 21, 2014.
The St. Martin Pony League was instrumental in getting players from St. Martin selected on the France National Team.
