President of Parliament Mr. Rodolphe Samuel received the final report on the 2010 financial statements of the island territory of the Sint Maarten on Friday, December 7, 2012. Mr. Ronald Halman, chairman of the board of the General Audit Chamber presented the report to Parliament.
The General Audit Chamber examined the financial statements 2010 of the island territory and provided an opinion on the financial management and accountability. The investigation examined whether the liabilities, expenditure and revenue occurred in accordance with the adopted budget ordinance and whether there was an orderly and accountable financial management.
Once Parliament receives reports from the General Audit Chamber, these reports are made public. The document is available in Dutch at the General Audit Chamber and will be available in English before the end of the year. Both versions will be published on the website of the General Audit Chamber (www.arsxm.org).
