Female taxi driver, Antonia Arrindell (Taxi 300) is the lucky winner of a brand new Blackberry Smartphone package courtesy of mobile provider TelCell.
The device was one of three raffle prizes awarded at last Sunday’s special luncheon organized at the Cabana Beach Restaurant, Simpson Bay, by Prime Minister, Mrs. Sarah Wescott-Williams in Honor of the International Day for Women on March 8.
Each year on this occasion the Prime Minister takes the opportunity to honour St. Maarten women and the contribution they make to society. This year the honours went to all female taxi drivers for keeping up their role as ambassadors of the island.
Special honours and presentations were also made to the longest serving female taxi driver and the youngest serving female taxi driver, after which the Prime Minister thanked all the sponsors, including TelEm Group for making the occasion a highly successful one.
