Hearing on Common Law Marriage and Book Two of the Civil Code Set for February 9

A Central Committee of Parliament hearing is planned for 9 February about Common Law Marriage and Book Two of the Civil Code.
The hearing is scheduled for Thursday afternoon at 4.00pm in the General Assembly Chamber of the House of Parliament.

The law that parliamentarians will be dealing with is the National Ordinance amending Book One of the Civil Code, National Ordinance Revision Common Law Marriage.
The second piece of legislation to be dealt with by Members of Parliament is the National Ordinance amending Book Two of the Civil Code.
Several Notaries and the Bar Association will be present in the House of Parliament to give their input with respect to the aforementioned national ordinances.
The hearing on the amendment to Book Two of the Civil Code was originally planned for February 10, but this has been moved forward and included in the session for Thursday.
