After the official opening of the Center for Youth and Family by Maxima on October 31 last, a festive opening reception was held last Friday, November 4th for the other youth organizations and those who were involved in the development of the Center for Youth and Family.
Commissioner Silvana Serfilia graced the reception and recalled in her speech that, two and a half years ago, the Lieutenant Governor received a sign from Minister Rouvoet for the Center for Youth and Family. This was intended as an inviting perspective. Since the Public Entity, the four foundations involved and ‘kwartiermaker’ Marga Drewes had the same end in mind for the Center for Youth and Family it was possible to find a solution for all problems and issues. Due to the common belief and commitment and the great perseverance of all parties involved a beautiful center for the parents and youth of Bonaire is a fact as of November 2011. The colorful interior and the pictures of the youth of Bonaire, taken by the ‘Stichting Bon Kousa’, create a pleasant and inviting ambiance. With Riet Sealy at the helm of the new organization, Bonaire can rest assured that the high quality will be maintained and that even more activities and initiatives for healthy and safe development for the youth between 0 and 19 years can be expected.
The Commissioner handed over the sign of the Center for Youth and Family to Riet Sealy. As such, the sign found its final destination at last. After the official part it was time to party at the Center for Youth and Family with the ‘Kara Kora’.
