Two members of the Youth Parliament Program of the St. Maarten Youth Council Association travelled to Guadeloupe on Wednesday to participate in a 5-day exchange on Youth Volunteerism. Representing St. Maarten are Djunathia Richardson and Vannessa Scantlebery.
The seminar is a Euro-Caribbean partnership under the EU Youth in Action Programme, and is coordinated by Consiel Regional des Jeunes of Guadeloupe. In addition to discussing volunteering among young people, the seminar offers a variety of intercultural exchange between youth of the Caribbean and Europe.
Ms. Richardson and Ms. Scantlebery will deliver their views on Volunteering, its importance and impact on youth and the society. The delegation will return to St. Maarten on Monday July 11.
