The Execuitve Board of the St. Maarten/Saint Martin Christian Council today paid a courtesy call on the honourable Lieutenant Governor of St. Maarten, Mr. Franklin Richards, LL.M. The new chairman for the coming three years Rev. Stephane Brooks headed his delegation consisting of Mr. Wally Havertong and the public relation officer Mr. Edgar Lynch.
Rev Brooks who replaced Rev. Lloyd Brissett on August 24th 2009 outlined to the lieutenant governor his concern for especially the youth of the community. He pledged the Council’s support for the youth.
The new chairman explained to the lieutenant governor that the Council will soon commence with a daily prayer on the radio stations and follow through on the report of a special task force. The St. Maarten/Saint Martin Christian Council expressed gratitude and thanks to the Lieutenant Governor for the courtesy call and pledged their cooperation to carry out their spiritual responsibility.
