The Lab Sports Academy hosted the 16th annual Oyster bay Youth Tennis championship over the week end of January 28th & 29th 2017.
This was a very successful event. We had a total of 29 players from the different clubs on St. Maarten.
Thanks goes out to the St. Maarten Tennis club who showed up with over 15 players in different categories.
The Championship was held in Five different categories. These are the results of the competition.
In the Beginners Bracket we had as winners :
Boys: 1st Place : Sean Williams
2nd Place: Rafael Amelunxen
Girls: 1. Place Semaiah Cranie
2nd Place Sienne Williams
Under 10 Category:
Boys: 1st Place Yosh Mahtani.
2nd Place Jahred Braly.
Girls: 1st Place Sofia Amelunxen
2nd Place Trishila Raikar.
Under 13 Category:
Boys: 1st place : Kisherno Webster
2nd Place Ejomar Shillingford
Girls: 1st Place Keisha Webster
2nd Ejanee Shillingford.
Under 15 Category :
Boys: 1st Place Nathan Casimir
2nd Adrian Arrindell.
Girls: 1st Place Sage Williams
2nd Place Jolien Williams.
This was the first tournament of the year 2017. The next event will take place in two months.
It is the intension of the organizers that the youth have some kind of competition challenge to look out for every two months.
This is part of the goal in developing the youth tennis and the sport on St. Maarten.
A big thank you also goes out to The management of Oyster bay who sponsored this event for the sixteenth time. Looking forward to their continued support.
