The St. Martin Pony Baseball/Softball League says a recent donation from TelEm Group will go towards airfare for local athletes who will be competing in this year’s PONY Youth Baseball Caribbean Zone Tournaments July 1-5.
Organizers have to find more than $20,000 to take two delegations of players, umpires and other support staff to the Under 10 years tournament in Aruba and to the Under-12 years tournament in Puerto Rico.
They are asking corporate businesses and other corporate citizens with an interest in youth and sports to assist however possible, appealing to them to follow the lead of TelEm Group and others who have already expressed support.
