Island Gems donates printer to Sundial School

PHILIPSBURG – Island Gems Charity Foundation recently donated a medium sized printer to Sundial School’s Art Room. The printer-scanner was very much in need to save the work of the students and to print art lessons and patterns.

The school originally asked for a simple household printer. The all-women group realised such a printer would not have been sustainable long-term and opted to research a more suitable heavy duty multi-functional printer. One was found at Office World and that business partnered with Island Gems by giving a significant discount for the printer to aid the project.

Island Gems thanks Office World for its contribution and wishes the art students of Sundial much success in their project.

The foundation does not give cash, rather it supports projects with long-term impact.

Funds are raised at an annual gala and used to benefit both sides of the island. This year’s gala is on Saturday, April 2, at Captain Oliver’s restaurant. Tickets cost US $125 each and are available only from members.
