On Thursday January 2nd at approximately 11.30 p.m. several Philipsburg police patrols responded to a call of shots being fired in the vicinity of Le Petit Chateau on the Soualiga road.
On the scene the investigating officers learned that the driver of a green colored Dodge Caravan with license-plate M-8441 for unknown reasons fired a gunshot in the area and then drove in the direction Arch road. During a search of the area the vehicle in question with the suspect as the
driver was spotted driving on the Sucker garden road towards Philipsburg. The suspect was stopped after a short car chase and his vehicle was search. During the search a silver colored Smith and Wesson caliber .38 revolver was found under the rear seat and confiscated. Three bullets and two spent cartridges were also
confiscated. The suspect was arrested on the spot for the illegal possession of a fire-arm and ammunition. The suspect with initials D.R. from the Dominican republic (54) remains in custody for further investigation.
