8th Annual 1st Caribbean Bank Youth Tennis Tournament 2010

 

Over the Weekend of : 24th, 25th & 26th of September 2010 The Lab Sports Academy in collaboration with the first Caribbean Bank hosted it’s 8th Annual Youth Tennis Tournament.

Location: Raoul Illidfge Sports Complex & The Port de Plaisance Tennis Country Club.

The event was a success, we had 24 participants. Thank you goes out to the First Caribbean bank who made it possible for especially the grasrout children, who got a chance to showcase their skills in the game of tennis. Thank you also goes out to the Princess Port de Plaisance Country Club for the use of their Courts.

The Tournament was split up in Four Brackets, male as well as female categories.

1. Beginners

2. 10 & Under

3. 13 & Under

4. Open Category.

Scattered showers delayed competition slightly but we pulled of the different matches in a style.

There was fears competition in the under 13 Category.

We had very strong performance within the Triplet schaede : Nicolas, Geraldo, dieter: V/S Jason Smith, Leshawn Brown, Jai Essed, Edwin van der Weer, Adiel Mercedes and Abbayomie Cooms.

The final was between Geraldo Schaede and Leshawn Brown. Geraldo won this event 4 – 2. Nicolas Schaede was the stronger player but got injured and could not continue in the Semi Finals.

In the Open Class Female Alexandra Schaede did away with Belkis Pisas with 6 -1

6 – 2.

In the Girls under 10 we had very good performance from Shantal Hughes who won from Ivienne Louisa in the Under 10 Category. Shantal also played in the under 13 Category.

In other Scores: Boys Beginners we had Yanick Arnoud who won against Tobias Caceres.

In de Under 13 Girls we had Sofia Brands as winner against Jasmin Essed with the score of 4 – 2.

And in the Under 10 Boys we had as winner Quair Hodge.

LAB SPORTS NEXT EVENT WILL BE IN TWO MONTHS TIME:

THIS WILL BE THE EIGHT ANNUAL DIAMOND INTERNATIONAL

YOUTH TENNIS TOURNAMENT.

WE ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO A BETTER PARTICIPATION ESPECIALLY BY THE FEMALES.
