Love of Kids Foundation and Philipsburg Jubilee Library are organizing a special evening for teenagers and their parents featuring former gang leader and motivational speaker Dr. Joseph Jennings. The event will take place on Thursday evening September 17 in the hall of the Library between 7.00 and 8.30 pm.
Jennings grew up in the black ghetto of South Bent, Indiana and lived a lifestyle of gang and drug related violence. Now , an international Anti-Drug/Anti Gang Motivational speaker Jennings travels the world sharing his story and warning young people of the dangers of drug use and gang activity. During his previous visit to our island in 2008 Josehp M. Jennings. spoke to over 1500 youths delivering powerful and resonating messages with regards to gang violence, alcohol, drug usage, the use of profanity and also abstinence from sex.
Dr Jennings no nonsense keep it real approach strikes a cord with every audience that he speaks to.
Love of Kids foundation and the PJ Library hope that this evening with Dr Jennings will inspire and motivate the young people of our island to do better. Let’s give our youth the chance they need to break free from peer pressure and soar above the rest. Let’s just do it now!
