Middle Region – The Shoot Hoops not Guns campaign brings awareness to the Middle Region and Defiance community.
After accepting to host the campaign in their district, the Middle Region and Defiance Community Council were assisted by the Shoot Hoops not Guns Committee and their growing movement of volunteers with handing out flyers promoting the upcoming events. While handing out flyers, the opportunity was taken to distribute 500 bumper stickers, sponsored by Artistic Drive and SXM Signs, with the message, “Violence is NEVER a Solution.

Some projects that were executed in other communities were: clean ups, property repairs, painting walls, fences, murals, signs, planting flowers and trees for beautification of playground and properties, creating garbage bins, constructing basketball nets and soccer goals.
All residents are encouraged to come out and participate as we all take a stance and help restore our communities.
The month will end with a grand celebration highlighted by a 3 on 3 basketball tournament and 3 point competition which will be incorporated with the annual Middle Region’s Day on June 26th.
