On Saturday August 9, 2014 The Windward Islands Bank employees, family members and friends volunteered their services to help clean and beautify the St. Maarten Zoo.
From 7:00 a.m. the cleaning started with the cutting, raking & shoveling of leaves, branches and old wood out of the zoo area and into three large bins that were sponsored by Meadowlands garbage services.
Manager Marketing & Public Relations Ferdinand Beauperthuy stated that it was a wonderful experience working together to do something positive for the only zoo on the Island. “Together we were able to clean most areas that will attract future visitors back to the Zoo. The experience of working next to various colleagues and non-colleagues was priceless: Beauperthuy said.
During the break, the volunteers were treated six Dominator Pizzas that were sponsored by Dominos Pizza.
We would like to encourage everyone to visit the Zoo, invite friends and family to help keep St. Maarten ZOO alive; the Bank stated in a press release.
A second Clean & Beautification for phase II area is schedule for August 23, 2014 from 7 am to 1pm. Interested volunteers are asked to walk with gloves and help to clean up the ZOO.
Come one come all and keep St. Maarten Zoo alive.
