Bertaux "Mr. Rude" Fleming of Xtratight Entertainment, the promoter of the TelCell Night of the Hit Makers concert for Carnival, on Thursday said that the people of St. Maarten could expect a show that won’t soon be forgotten.
Mr. Rude, a veteran in the entertainment industry, was joined by President of the St. Maarten Carnival Development Foundation (SCDF) Mike Granger, Chief Commercial Officer of TelCell Brian Mingo and representatives of corporate sponsors attached to his show from InselAir, FunMiles, Maduro Travel and International Liquour Tobacco & Trading (ILTT).
He expressed how proud he was to be hosting the event for the 45th anniversary of Carnival and, as an added benefit, to have the night leading into Jovert Morning Jump-Up, often viewed as the biggest night on the Carnival schedule.
Mr. Rude outlined all of the artists for the Night of the Hit Makers including the legendary Dragonnaires, back in St. Maarten after many years. Also on the card are Cache Royale, Control Band, Shadowan, Krosfyah, Claudius Philips and his son Shaun Philips.
The representatives of the corporate sponsors present all congratulated Mr. Rude on the event and expressed how happy they were to be associated with the show. They all expressed confidence that he, as a young St. Maarten promoter, can and will deliver what he promotes. The sponsors are also excited about Mr. Rude having the night leading into Jouvert.
The sponsors will also be having several specials running for the show which will be promoted in the coming weeks. InselAir, for example, will give clients from Aruba, Bonaire, Curacao and St. Maarten the opportunity to win tickets to the show through various raffles and in-flight promotions.
TelCell’s COO Mingo said the company is happy to be able to get on board with an event like Night of the Hit Makers, organized by a local professional. President of the SCDF Mike Granger hailed Mr. Rude as an outside-the-box thinker and promoter who delivers a quality product to enhance Carnival, St. Maarten’s premier event.
The unique aspect to Night of the Hit Makers, Granger said, is the dance floor that is placed inside of Carnival Village. To ensure that this aspect is unique to only Night of the Hit Makers, the SCDF will only allow Mr. Rude to make use of such a dance floor during Carnival.
Mr. Rude said the public should still look out for more deals and attractions in the coming weeks for Night of the Hit Makers in an effort to make the night truly memorable.
