"It is rather unfortunate a signature is missing from the approved 2014 national budget of Country Sint Maarten.
"While the reason for the missing signature is being sorted by the Government, the Council of Ministers and President of Parliament signed the necessary letters the same night (Thursday, 16 January) of budget approval, and provided these together with the relevant documents to the Minister of Finance and the Minister of General Affairs.
"In regards to the one week extension to sort matters out from the sake of the Kingdom Council of Ministers, I want to state that I appreciate very much the understanding and willingness of the aforementioned Council to grant the Council of Ministers the one week extension.
"After having a successful workweek in the recent IPOK with colleagues from the Dutch First and Second Chambers of Parliament, having a good personal contact can go a long way in bridging any bumps or misunderstandings in issues affecting our countries within the framework agreed upon," President of Parliament Hon. Gracita Arrindell said on Saturday.
