President Arrindell congratulates USC on new website

President of Parliament Hon. Gracita Arrindell commends the Unified St. Maarten Connection (USC) foundation on their launch of the organizations website on Monday. The website address is www.uscfoundation.com

USC is engaged in assisting young St. Maarteners studying in Holland as well as young professionals.

The Holland-based organization is seen as an essential body that can provide clarification on scholastic and other issues and social and informative events that bring students and young professionals together.

On the home page of the website, the site features a flash slideshow of pictures that depicts exactly what the foundation stands for: to foster a greater sense of unity among St. Maarten students and young professionals in the Netherlands and on St. Maarten, and to parlay this dynamic into affecting change that is beneficial and related to the unique position we hold within the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

The website also features a discussion forum and information section for media, events, what the foundation is about etc.

"I would like to take this opportunity to commend USC and its members for this great initiative. The organization already utilizes social media in the form of a Facebook page, and the website is another avenue to promote the great work that this St. Maarten student/professional interest Holland-based foundation is doing.

"I encourage USC to take their organization to the next level and network with the ‘Wereldstage’ organization which can provide apprenticeship opportunities for students and young professionals.

"The ‘Wereldstage’ to my understanding has placed hundreds of Dutch students in different businesses including in the hotel and tourism sector in for example Curacao. It is time for our students from Sint Maarten be afforded similar opportunities," President of Parliament Hon. Drs. Gracita Arrindell said on Tuesday.
