PM Douglas thanks crowd for full confidence support during parliamentary session

St. Kitts and Nevis’ Prime Minister the Rt. Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas has expressed thanks to hundreds of Labour Party supporters who assembled outside Masses House – the party headquarters – on Monday, to show full confidence in the governing administration during the sitting of the St. Kitts and Nevis National Assembly.

"I want to thank you for coming out again today. We have been on the road since January and if we have to remain on the road, we shall remain on the road. I want to say to you, this is Labour country and let them know that we shall not be intimidated," he told the crowd, most of whom kept vigil during the debates in the assembly, a few feet away.

"You see we did not trouble them. They slashing our tires, they mashing up windscreens, but God knows we remain calm, because Labour is peaceful. Let us follow the advice of the Hon. Marcella Liburd at last night’s (Sunday’s Full Confidence Public Meeting in Constituency #2, Central Basseterre) and in Parliament a while ago. She said ‘don’t be provoked’," said Prime Minister Douglas, who is also the National Political Leader of the ruling St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party to the loud cheers of the crowd.

"This is Labour Country, Power to the People!," said Prime Minister Douglas, who was lifted shoulder high as arrived at the party headquarters.
