St John’s, Antigua – No more are up-to-date photographs of West Indies cricketers rare and hard to access. Anyone in the world now has full access to thousands of high quality images of West Indies cricketers in action at the international and regional level.

The West Indies Cricket Board today advised that its online photo gallery comprises over 10,000 images of West Indies men’s and women’s international, First Class and junior cricketers, officials, fans and grounds.

"Our online gallery currently has 11,271 images, covering all aspects of West Indies cricket and the gallery is updated on a daily basis," Corporate Communications Officer Imran Khan said.

"A few years ago we recognised the dearth of images on West Indies players and West Indies cricket on a whole. We noticed newspapers using years old photos of some players, sometimes which bore little resemblance to their current look. The WICB took a conscious decision to build an online gallery of high quality photographs which media and fans in general can access," Khan explained.

"The WICB has made a significant investment in building this incomparable online photo gallery with the assistance of Brooks LaTouche Photography and several photographers around the region and we are proud that we can boast that we are the cricket board, bar none, which offers the widest selection of complimentary photos to the media for editorial use," Khan said.

The WICB Online Photo Gallery includes individual headshot photos of all players of the West Indies Men’s and Women’s senior teams, all senior and junior regional teams, team photos, match photos and other photos capturing all aspects of West Indies cricket.

The official online photo gallery of the WICB is located at: http://www.flickr.com/photos/windiescricket

Photos are available for free download and editorial use by all media houses and fans can also browse and download photos for their personal display use on their computers and mobile devices.

"This comprehensive service is not provided, to this extent by any other cricket board anywhere in the world," Khan said.

The WICB online photo gallery is displayed on the WindiesCricket.com home page and select photos are also posted daily on the WICB social media (http://www.facebook.com/windiescricket and http://www.twitter.com/westindies ) for fans to view and enjoy.

The WICB will continue to offer the photography service for the International Home Series featuring West Indies v Zimbabwe starting on February 22nd in Grenada and for future tours, tournaments and series.
