In continuation of the 2012 St. Martin Pony League Youth Baseball competition the I CAN Braves of Dutch Quarter gave the Cul de Sac Padres the biggest surprise of the competition so far.
After the surprising victory of last week against the Sandy Ground Mariners no one could have foreseen that they came to repeat this happening once again. From early in the game it was obvious that the I CAN Braves had serious intention against the Padres and at no moment was about to be an easy walk over. I CAN took the lead in the first inning but the Padres connected hard balls tied the game and took a 5 – 3 lead. The Padres took control of the game and at a given moment they were leading the game 15 – 5 and had I CAN Braves at their murcy. Facing the possibility of loosing by knock out the Braves came back strong and went ahead on a triple RBI by Rashan Isaac followed by another triple by Patrice Royal and good base hits by Victor Lennard and Stevon Prince. To the surprise of everyone I CAN took the lead and had the Padres at their last at bat. Pitcher Rashan Isaac made it an easy 1-2-3 inning and went with the biggest upset of the season. I CAN won 18 – 17 and with this victory I CAN Braves is now on its way moving up to the top.
The league is now going in a pause due to the fact that the players will be attending the 2012 Pony Caribbean Zone Mustang Division 9 -10 Youth Baseball Tournament in Haina, Dominican Republic. the games are schedule to take place from July 2 – 8, 2012.
