Recommendations on the way forward for spectrum allocation harmonization were part of his address.

The conference was well attended and very informative. Director of BTP-SXM Mr. Anthony Carty stated: “BTP-SXM will remain committed to collaborate with counterparts in the region for the further development of policies related to ICT, broadband development and Quality of Service standards. Global studies have indicated that building broadband has a positive effect on GDP, productivity, and employment growth of a country. It’s therefore of great importance that we as the regulator work closely together with the Ministry of TEATT to update current telecom policies and develop new policies to drive innovation in St. Maarten”.
