Cable TV, RBC sponsor HYPE agendas for high schools

St. Maarten Cable TV and RCB Royal Bank sponsored a combined total of 715 HYPE high school agendas for two schools in St. Maarten in an effort to help students to be organised during the current academic year.

RBC Royal Bank sponsored a total of 375 agendas for the St. Maarten Preparatory Secondary Vocational Education (PSVE) section of St. Maarten Academy. The institution’s Country Manager for St. Maarten Hanna Lieuw Hie-Gonesh presented the agendas to the school on behalf of the bank during a recent ceremony at PSVE.

St. Maarten Cable TV sponsored a total of 340 agendas for St. Dominic High School. Cable TV Director Beulah Jonis made the donation on behalf of the company to the school recently.

This is the second year that St. Maarten Cable TV has sponsored agendas for students.

Both companies were happy to have been able to make the donations to not just help students at the respective schools keep organised during the school year, but also provide them with a product containing enlightening information written specifically for high school students.

Both schools were thankful to their sponsors for the positive gesture.

The HYPE agendas are specifically tailored for the academic year and cover the months that coincide with the school year making them easy for students to use for school related reminders such as noting down their assignments, projects, homework and other school related things.

It was produced by Voice of the Youth SXM in collaboration with a team of energetic students from the various high schools, who helped research and write most of the articles and profiles in the agenda. Also included are useful information such as the various school vacation dates, study financing and safe sex.

This year’s agenda is themed “career options” and as such the focus was place on a number of practical career options that students can pursue as assets to St. Maarten.

Students (and teacher) role models from each high school in St. Maarten, Saba and Statia are also featured.
