1st round of Bikini contest at Bliss
A new Soggy Sounds DJ Champion will be named Saturday at the end of the final heat of an exciting DJ competition at the Soggy Dollar Bar in Simpson Bay and following last Saturday’s elimination of defending Champ, DJ Chubs.
Of the eight contestants who put on their best performances Saturday, four have now advanced to the finals: DJ Chicken, DJ Maestro, DJ Skillz and DJ Big Boss.
Organizers say it was another packed night with some unbelievable sets from some of St. Maarten’s hottest DJs.
They expect the largest turnout of fans and supporters this coming Saturday when the finals take place and the judges announce who will be taking home a $2,500 cash prize and bragging rights as the new House DJ for the Soggy Dollar Bar.
TelEm Group Lead Customer Service Officer, Suraj Ramdas, says TelEm Group is one of the sponsors of the competition and has been present at each of the elimination rounds to meet with fans and music lovers, "and also to give the contestants some encouragement," said Suraj.
He said the DJ contest is just one of a number of Summer events that TelEm Group is sponsoring and is involved with in the coming weeks.
"We had a real blast at the Bliss Nightclub on July 13 for a "Dutch Invasion/Pre-Bastille Day Celebration" that set the tone for all that has happened up to now," said Suraj.
He said the Bliss event was especially "Hot" because of the performance of music mix-master "Allure" who rocked the nightclub for four straight hours until the party came to an end at 5:00 in the morning.
"Our TelEm Group and TelCell teams are really looking forward to the DJ finals on Saturday and to meeting more and more of the friends we are making throughout this Summer," continued Suraj.
Also starting this Saturday is another event on the TelCell Summer program – the First Round of the Sunset Bar & Grill 5th Annual Bikini Contest.
The contest gets under way at 9:00 pm, while the DJ Finals are scheduled to begin at 10:00 pm.
Suraj says his team has been giving out many giveaways and spot prizes during these events. One popular giveaway very much in demand is "Designer" TelCell Condoms in the mobile carrier’s bold red color.
