On Friday, July 19, the Philipsburg Jubilee Library in collaboration with Movement for Music Dance Art and Entertainment powered by La Rich Arts & Entertainment Management will once again present the 4th edition of Spoken Lyrics, to be hosted at the Philipsburg Jubilee Library’s new Lounge, at 8 pm.
This Fridays Spoken Lyric Session follows in the footsteps of the successful and excitement-filled " Drums of Fire" which was held on Friday, July 6, 2013. This Fridays show promises to be even more exciting than the last and will be themed "Urban Flava", in celebration of the talented youth of St. Maarten. Under the guidance of talented MC Tammy G, the nights main featured artists will be our islands rising star, D.Kullus along with DJ Earz. Kullus, a popular lyrical rapper is best known for his latest song "Let You Know" featuring Chantal "Chanti" Richardson. The creative pair will be performing Tempo’s chart topping hit song live. Other featured musical and poetry performances will include: The Greenlight Band comprised of an eclectic set of musicians, Devondre Jones, Sigma & Simpletune, Entry Payperview and Yellow Boy and much more.
This session will showcase the beauty of spoken lyrics fused with music. The objective of this collaboration is to encourage the growth of up and coming, as well as dormant but talented young St.Maartens, who display a passion for the arts, while providing a place for them to share their work with the wider community.
The final hour is the open mic session for the general public to share their work based on the theme of the evening. Our last show will follow on Friday, August 2, 2013
