During the past week the St. Martin Pony League Youth Baseball selection traveled to Haina Dominican Republic where they competed in the 2012 Pony Caribbean Zone Mustang Division 9-10 yrs Youth Baseball Tournament.
Even though the St. Martin team were stunned by the amount of fans and even though the Dominican Republic team had all the Dominican fans shouting for them the St. Martin players struggled in all their games only to realize that they were up against the giants of Caribbean baseball. Puerto Rico, Venezuela and the two Dominican Teams were too much for St. Martin. They lost all their games and was the first team to be eliminated, while the Puerto Rico team came from behind with a 3-1 to defeat the team of Haina Dominican Republic 4-3 and captured the rights to attend the Pony World Series in Texas.
