The St. Martin Pony League is on their campaign of motivating youngsters of St. Maarten / St. Martin on saying NO to drugs and violence while also preparing for the Pony Eastern and Dutch Caribbean Tournaments. Tuyo Jacobs has been contracted to prepare all the players.
The Pony Eastern Caribbean Tournament will be for 11 and under and only for Pony affiliated Leagues of the Eastern Caribbean while the Pony Dutch Caribbean Tournament will be an open tournament for any 14 and under team of any league or any surrounding island. Champion of the 11 and under will be representing the Caribbean at the Pony World Series in Chesterfield, Virginia. Gabriel Brown as Eastern Caribbean Director of Pony Baseball/ Softball Inc. has been authorized to organize both events.
According to Mr. Brown the St. Martin Pony League will be in charge of hosting the events on St.Maarten. So far Curacao, Aruba, Bonaire, Dominican Republic, Antigua and St. Martin have shown interest in participating in these tournaments. The tournaments are expected to take place from April 5 – 9 on St. Maarten/St. Martin.
