The 12th UNESCO Youth Forum will take place online on 19 November 2021, during the 41st session of the UNESCO General Assembly.

Building on the findings of the global initiative “Youth as Researchers on COVID-19”, this Forum will bring together young people from around the world to discuss how UNESCO’s mandate can be mobilized to fight the negative effects of the pandemic on youth.  

The Forum will give rise to a draft Plan of Action for and by Youth for the post-COVID-19 period, as well as recommendations that will subsequently be presented to the Member States at the plenary session of the General Conference.

Persons interesting in participating in the 12th UNESCO Youth Forum must submit his/her application form by October 26, 2021, to:

The requirements for consideration for the 12th UNESCO Youth Forum are as follow:

Application Requirements:

·         Applicant must be between 18 to 30 years old

·         Applicant must submit:

o   A curriculum vitae

o   A letter of motivation

o   Two (2) Reference letters

o   Documentation showing experience in project management, designing and/or leading initiatives within the scope of UNESCO’s mandate that contributes to peace, promotes collaboration amongst others, advocates for education, science, culture, and respect for justice.

·         Applicant need to have proficient communication and writing skills

·         Applicant need to be available to share knowledge acquired from the youth forum, which can be used towards the policy development within the Department of Youth Affairs
