STC to attend Teams ‘13 Sports Conference and Expo NAGICO insurances supports STC initiative

NAGICO Insurances presented a check to Sports Tourism Council Sint Maarten Foundation (STC Sint Maarten) in order for the organization to be able to send two representatives to Teams ‘13 Conference and Expo from November 4-7 in Salt Lake City, Utah in the United States. The conference is sponsored by the sports world’s event magazine SportsTravel. 

Teams ‘13 is considered the world’s leading conference and expo for the Sports-Event Industry. More than 300 sports-event suppliers and destinations are scheduled to attend.

The Sports Tourism Council Sint Maarten Foundation ( STC SINT MAARTEN) has as its primary goal to develop Sports Tourism as a niche market for the destination. The new entity is structured to attract annual sports events to the island and to stimulate economic development.

STC representatives will be attending a number of sessions at the four-day conference and expo that will fully prepare them for the promotion of the destination as a sports tourism destination. Some of the sessions will delve into Economic Impact Analysis; Event Safety, Security and Integrity; Social Media, Mobile and Your Events; Advancing Integrity in Sports; amd the Business of Sports.

STC Sint Maarten seeks to develop triathlon event, marathon, cycling tour, youth basketball tournaments, softball tournaments, indoor slot model car racing, a kickboxing event, celebrity games, cricket tournaments, baseball tournaments, soccer tournament and other sports related events.

The Sports Tourism Council team of founders are namely: Juan Pablo Piscione as President, Stanley Lint as Treasurer, Reggie Plaisir as Secretary, General Board Members Reggie Coram, and Peter Arndell.

The foundation welcomes corporate partnerships in order to achieve its main objective of the development and promotion of Sports Tourism on the island.
