WITU’s 40th Anniversary and the Launching of the Status of Women’s Committee

The Hon. Prime Minister arrived at approx. 6:00 p.m.at out office and our program for the Launching of the Status of Women’s Committee.

We were joined later by our Hon. Minister of Education Mrs. Patricia Lourens, who both gave their congratulatory remarks.

 

The President and board members of the Anguilla Teacher’s Union (ATU, a member unit of the Caribbean Union of Teachers (CUT)was also present at the event. Rev. Emma Ferguson gave a very thought provoking remarks as she congratulated the WITU, with former Vice President of WITU, Mr. Julian Lynch President of the WIHCUA and President of the WIFOL and WICLU Mr. Theophilus Thompson, who offered congratulatory remarks. Congratulatory remarks came from several units of the CUT in the Caribbean such as Jamaica, Barbados, Antigua and Barbuda, St. Lucia, Belize, Dominica. Several members and honorary members (pensioneers) of the WITU also came out to commemorated this milestone with the Board of the WITU.

Th St. Maarten Song was sung by none other than Sis. Dorothy Radjouki-Carty.

And the MC for the smooth running of the program was the Vice President Mrs. Corinne Lejeuz-van Putten.
