BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS(CUOPM) – St. Kitts and Nevis’ Minister of Telecommunications and Information Technology, the Honourable Glenn Phillip is in Barbados with senior policy makers and leaders from across the Caribbean to discuss the region’s approaches to ICT enabled development.
The Caribbean Telecommunications Union’s (CTU) 11th Caribbean Ministerial Strategic ICT is being held under the theme, ‘Aligning Action to Vision.’
The two- day meeting which began on Wednesday covers many topics to include ‘Specifying Action for the Vision’, ‘The Regulator’s role in realizing the vision’; ‘The Broadband Vision: The Need For Spectrum’ and Maximizing the impact and return on broadband.’
Other items on the agenda include, ‘Securing the future in a digital world’; ‘Cyber crime: The Caribbean is not immune’; ‘CTU’s Cyber Security Work’ and ‘Powering the Vision: Caribbean Challenges’.
These discussions are aimed at providing the necessary insight for effective decision-making in advancing the social and economic development agenda of Caribbean territories.
Additionally, they are geared towards fostering greater understanding of information and communication technologies.
