The St. Martin Pony league is presently embarking on the training of the youth baseball and softball players with special emphasis on the youngster 12 and under. These days the John Cooper Jose Lake Senior Ball Park can be seen with kids from all the neighborhoods from St.Martin.
The youngsters are been thought the sport of baseball and softball, St. Maarten Pony League is focusing on fast pitch soft ball and real baseball style with stealing bases lead offs and balks. Just like in the major league . The intention is that by next year the St.Martin Pony League file a girls softball team 12 & U to attend the Pony girls fast pitch softball tournament in Viana, Ohio, while the boys will be attending Eastern Caribbean Zone and Caribbean Zone tournament in Puerto Rico or Curacao . The next events coming up for the St. Martin Pony League are the starting of the youth neighborhood baseball season the Dutch Caribbean Zone Tournament and the Eastern Caribbean Zone Tournament of which the winner of the tournament will be going straight to the Pony World series in Chesterfield, Virginia.
The Pony League office is open for all parents who wants to register their youth for baseball or softball. Registration is for children 5 to 19 years.
