Caribbean sportscasters Barry Wilkinson and Ian Bishop, are part of an award-winning team from ESPN to win a bronze in the sports category at the recent 32nd Annual Telly Awards in the USA.
The "ESPN Caribbean T20 Anthology" show which was produced by ESPN International staffers David Walsh, Joe Dias, Carlos Sepulveda and David Satlin under the supervision of Totlyn Mason and covers the 2010 T20 event in Barbados and Trinidad & Tobago was the showpiece which won the event.
Wilkinson was the show’s host and former cricketer Bishop conducted all of the interviews for the show which featured many of the region’s top players past and present including Dwayne Bravo, Adrian Barath, Ramnaresh Sarwan, Darren Sammy, Courtney Walsh, Desmond Haynes, Clive Lloyd, Wavell Hinds, Jeffrey Dujon, Deryck Murray, Kieron Pollard and Travis Dowlin.
Commenting on the prestigious Bronze Telly won by ESPN, Bernard Stewart, Vice President, ESPN Caribbean & Maritime Media, said "ESPN is committed to deliver the highest quality sports events to our viewers. ESPN and the WICB signed an historic three-year agreement in January for the broadcast of Caribbean T20 and other WICB regional tournaments live to audiences across the region and highlight packages of West Indies international home series on ESPN in the Caribbean.
