On Sunday May 12th at approximately 07.45 a.m. the Emergency Dispatch Centre received several calls of an altercation between two men which took place on Madrid Road lane I Dutch Quarter. During this altercation the suspect used a machete to confront the victim causing him severe injuries. The victim suffered severe cuts to one of his arms from which he bled profusely. The victim was treated on the scene by paramedics and then transported to the Sint Maarten medical Centre for further medical treatment. The suspect who is known to police fled the scene after committing and has not turned himself in. The reason for this ill-treatment is still unclear and the investigation into this case is ongoing.
