Dutch nationals living abroad can apply for a DigiD on www.digid.nl and should subsequently pick up their activation code at one of the DigiD service counters. As of April 10th, 2019 activation codes can be picked up at the service counter of the Belastingdienst/CN (Tax Office CN).
What is DigiD and what can I do with it?
With your DigiD you can identify yourself on the Internet, you can log in on Dutch government websites, Mijn DUO (student grant) and pension funds among others. For tax matters in the European Netherlands for instance. Former students can check the amount of their student debt to DUO, change details online and view their electronic DUO mail with a DigiD in Mijn DUO.
Can I also apply for a DigiD?
In order to apply for a DigiD from Bonaire, you should meet several requirements:
– you live outside the Netherlands and you are not registered in the European Netherlands; you are a Dutch national;
– you have a valid Dutch passport or Dutch ID card;
– you have a citizen service number (Burgerservicenummer, BSN);
– you have a mobile phone on which you can receive SMS messages both in and outside the Netherlands;
– you have an e-mail address.

Apply for your DigiD via www.digid.nl. Select ‘I live outside the Netherlands’ during the application. Please note! You must remember your user name and password. After you have submitted the application you will receive a counter code. You should subsequently make an appointment with the Belastingdienst/CN to pick up your DigiD activation code.
Make an appointment for your activation code
Do you want to pick up your activation code, then you should make an appointment with the Belastingdienst. Appointments can be booked on Monday to Friday between 09:00 AM and 12:00 noon. Please call +599 715 8806 for an appointment. Please bring your counter code and your Dutch passport or Dutch ID card for the appointment with the Belastingdienst. Here you will receive your activation code, which you need to complete the application process on digid.nl. Please note: you should pick up your activation code in person.
