State Secretary Raymond Knops and Minister Kajsa Ollongren (Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations) will visit the Leeward Islands from 8th to 10th April. It is a regular working visit for Knops and for Ollongren it is a first introduction in the islands.
The trip starts with a working visit to Aruba. There they will have talks with the Governor and several members of the Cabinet. Followed by a working visit to the Red Cross and talks with parties in the immigration service, among others. The second day they will visit Bonaire. Apart from talks with the (new) Executive Council and the Island Council, they will visit agencies there like the Census Office (“Burgerzaken”) and Fundashon Kas Boneriano.
On the third and last day, the minister and state secretary will visit Curaçao. Apart from talks with the Governor and different members of the Cabinet, they will visit Pietermaai and Otra Banda in the context of the exploitation of the cultural heritage. The three-day visit will be concluded with a lunch for entrepreneurs themed on the economic value of the historical town centre.
